About us
At NordicVet3D, we specialise in advanced computer-aided techniques for animal healthcare, blending veterinary expertise with cutting-edge 3D technology.
Our team is uniquely qualified, comprising two experienced veterinary surgeons, a CAD specialist with a background at Skåne University Hospital's leading human medical 3D centre, and a corporate lawyer with a strong grasp of economic principles.
Our primary mission is to enhance the precision of veterinary procedures, fostering greater confidence in animal care. While 3D technology has long been established in human medicine and is making strides in veterinary practice worldwide, we proudly position ourselves as pioneers in this field in Nordic countries.
With our extensive experience and proficiency in 3D veterinary modeling, we are dedicated to advancing veterinary care through innovative, precise solutions.
Applications of 3D Modelling in Medical Settings
3D modelling and additive manufacturing offer transformative benefits in the medical field, from advanced surgical planning to patient-specific device creation. This technology enables precise virtual planning and the design of customised surgical guides for the accurate placement of screws, pins, and osteotomy sites. The individualisation of these tools enhances surgical outcomes and patient safety.
Key Benefits:
- Personalisation: 3D modelling is tailored to each patient's unique anatomy, improving the precision of medical interventions.
- Enhanced Visualisation: CAD and 3D printing facilitate a deeper understanding of anatomical structures and disease progression for clinicians and veterinary professionals, as well as for pet owners, leading to better-informed treatment decisions.
Raw Data and Creation Process
Medical 3D models are developed using data from diagnostic imaging modalities, primarily Computed Tomography (CT). CT scans provide high spatial resolution, producing detailed images essential for accurate 3D model creation.
Biocompatible Materials
At NordicVet3D, we use biocompatible materials that meet stringent standards, including ISO 10993-1:2018, USP Class IV, and biocompatibility class I certifications. These materials are suitable for human, dental, and veterinary applications and can be sterilised using standard autoclave procedures.
Expanding Applications
The versatility of 3D modelling and printing continues to grow, with new applications emerging regularly. We are committed to exploring innovative uses and welcome opportunities for collaboration with other companies to advance our technology and its applications.
